Where this applies

This change was merged in a Brave server-side repository (brave/gate3#335). It is not part of any browser build. Brave’s swap backend (brave/gate3) serves every client, so once deployed it applies to swaps and bridging on every platform, channel and version. Deployment timing is not public.

Current state of the public repository: SWAP_DISABLED_CHAINS includes Chain.ZCASH (source, checked ). The deployed service could differ.

Brave Wallet currently sends a shielded-only unified address (u1...) as the swap recipient for ZEC destinations. Near Intents pays out to whatever recipient it is given, so funds land in a Ironwood shielded pool. Until Ironwood support lands in Brave Wallet, the funds are invisible to the user even if the swap succeeds. We have at least 3 reported incidents (~$4k combined) all confirmed on-chain as Ironwood shielded payouts.
