With Ironwood explicitly enabled on macOS Nightly 1.97.1, a memo containing 171 copies of 界 displays 171/512 without a length error, even though its UTF-8 encoding is 513 bytes and exceeds the 512-byte memo limit. Use the UTF-8 byte length for both the counter and validation so users can correct oversized messages before review; funded submission was not tested. cc @kdenhartog
